Charles Heidsieck is the smallest of the Grandes Marques champagne Houses. It is one of the best known producers for both vintage and non-vintage cuvee. The French regulations designate Charles Heidsieck as a Negociant Manipulant (a producer who buys grapes from growers).
Charles Heidsieck style is generously toasty, rich and evolved. The collection is remarkably equal throughout.
Approximately half a million bottles are currently produced annually.

Champagne was established in 1851 by the nephew of Piper-Heidsieck's owner. Charles Heidsieck was born in 1822 into an eminent Reims family whoes wine-making traditions date back to Florens-Louis Heidsieck. In 1851, at age 29, he founded the winehouse. In 1852 he traveled to the United States and became the first champagne merchant in the United States.
For a long period Charles Heidsieck was owned by the Henriot group. In 1985, Charles Heidsieck became part of the Rémy Cointreau wine and spirits group and was sold in 2011 to privately owned French luxury goods group EPI (Societe europeenne de participations industrielles) founded by Christopher Descours.
