Vintage Charts

A vintage chart provides a year by year analysis of the Champagne Region's grape harvest. When deciding on the vintage of a brand the vintage chart can give clues to the best years. The decision to declare a vintage rests with each individual producer depending upon their particular grapes. The following information is given as a general guideline, as exceptions always exist according to weather in specific areas. Other factors include optimal storage conditions and how a specific brand is aging to obtain the peak drinking timeframe.

Champagne Vintages

Vintage Champagne is not released for a minimum of three years after the first January following the harvest. Most vintages are not released until 5 years of age or longer.
